Barcodes: Self-Registration

The Self-Registration Barcode is a premium feature; if your organization uses it they will incur additional charges. Please contact support@cleared4.org for additional information.

There are two types of barcodes - self-registration and check in/check out. This article covers self-registration barcodes and contains the following sections:

Barcodes are located on the Settings -> Barcodes page.

Self-registration barcodes allow visitors to self-register and complete a health attestation before entering your premises.

Creating a Barcode

Note

You must create your Groups, Tags and Zones before you create a barcode.

  1. Click Add.

  2. Select Self Registration from the Purpose drop-down menu.

  3. Enter a Title for this barcode. This will display to the end user.
  4. Optionally, enter a Description of the barcode. This will display to the end user.
  5. Select Groups and/or TagsGroups are generally used to group those users who have the same role or in the same group in an organization. Tags are generally used for contact tracing, or, to filter out users.

    All new users will automatically be added to the Groups and Tags selected.

  6. Select a Zone for the barcode. 

  7. Click Add to save your barcode. 

Once you've created your barcode you have the option to edit the  Title or Description fields. 

You can also add to the Groups or Tags you selected when creating the barcode. 

Additionally, you can change the Zone assigned to the barcode. 

Click the  Save button in the upper-right corner of the widget to save any changes. 

Configurations for New Users

Determine if you want to add any additional configurations. These fields display only when a new user checks in. 

Configuration Definition
Enable Notifications When enabled will send users the daily reminder email.
Show Company field Displays the name of the company.
Show Language field Allows the user to change their language.
Show Email field Allows the user to enter their email address.
Show Address Fields Allows the user to enter their address.
Show DOB field Allows the user to enter their date of birth.
Show Zip code field Allows the user to enter their zip code.
Show Disclaimer Displays the user consent/disclaimer window as a pop-up window to the end user.

Show Tags field Displays tags to the user.

Clicking the Update Label button allows you to rename the Tags field the user sees during registration with the text you enter in this dialog box. Click Update when finished.
Show Groups field Displays groups to the user.

Clicking the Update Label button allows you to rename the Groups field the user sees during registration with the text you enter in this dialog box. Click Update when finished.

Checking for Existing User Accounts

Select an option in the  Check Existing User By section to determine how the Platform will check for existing user accounts. Click the Save button in the upper-right corner of the widget to save any changes.

Option Definition
None / Allow duplicates Does not check for existing user; will allow a duplicate user to be created.
Check For New And Existing User By (Sign Up)
Phone number only Checks user's phone number only.
Email only Checks user's email address only.
Both phone number and email Checks the user's phone number and email address.
Phone number or email Checks the user's phone number OR email address.
Phone number, email and DOB Checks the user's phone number, email and date of birth.
Phone number or email and DOB Checks the user's phone number or email address, and their date of birth.
Check Existing Users ONLY By (No Sign Up)
User ID or alias ID Checks the user's user ID OR their alias ID. Used only for existing users.

When you're ready, send the URL in the  URL field and the QR code to users, or, print the QR code and post it, allowing users to scan the code with their cell phone camera. 

User Experience

Existing Users

Users scan the barcode using the camera on their phone. They will see a screen that asks them to enter the information specified in the  Check Existing User By field.

Once the user has been verified they will click a link that takes them into the CLEARED4 app. Then they will use the scan function from within the app to scan the barcode and check in. 

New Users

Users scan the barcode using the camera on their phone. They will see a screen that asks them to enter the information specified in the  Check Existing User By field.

The user will be asked to self-register.

Once the user has completed the self-registration process and been verified they will click a link that takes them into the CLEARED4 app. Then they will use the scan function from within the app to scan the barcode and check in.
