Configuring Vaccination Rules

The Vaccination Rules page allows you to configure vaccination status and individual doses to trigger or remove BluePasses at specific times.

The Vaccination Rules pages is located on the Settings tab.

See the Examples section for help in configuring your rules.

Notes
  • Vaccination rules are zone-specific. Ensure that you have the correct zone selected in Settings -> Zone Settings -> Current Zone before you make any changes to a rule.
  • The default settings on this page match the current CDC guidelines.

This article covers:

Column Definitions

  • Eligible for BluePass - Indicates when a user is eligible for a BluePass based on the number of doses they've received.
  • Eligibility Days for Next Dose - Indicates when a user become eligible for their next dose/a booster.
  • BluePass Validity Days - Indicates when a BluePass expires.

Configuring BluePass Eligibility

  1. Determine if you want to require a Primary Series Dosage for users.
    1. Checking the box requires users to submit one or more vaccination dosages to receive a BluePass, based on the rules configured.
    2. Unchecking the box allows users to receive a BluePass after they upload their second dose or their booster-only information.
  2. Note

If you uncheck the Require Primary Series Dose(s) box, users can still upload primary dose vaccination information which will be stored on the user's profile.

  3. In the Eligible for BluePass column, determine when a user is eligible for their BluePass by selecting Yes or No from the drop-down menu for each dose.

  4. Use the drop-down menu to select the number of days until a user is eligible for their next dose.

  5. Use the drop-down menu to select the number of days for BluePass validity.

    Notes

-- Setting the BluePass validity days to Unlimited means a BluePass will never expire.

-- To add an automatic extension to a Bluepass expiry date, the number in the BluePass validity days column must be greater than the number of days in the Eligibility Days for next dose column. See an example of this type of configuration here.

-- To automatically remove a BluePass, the number of days in the BluePass validity days columns must be equal to the number of days in the Eligibility Days for next dose column. See an example of this type of configuration here.

-- When a user has vaccinations from different vendors the BluePass rules follow the rules in the table associated with the first dose vendor.

  6. Click Save.

Once you have made a change to a vaccination rule, the change will take effect in your instance after midnight (local time).

Using the Attested Table

The Attested rules table is used when vaccination information is added to the Platform via the API, or when the Import Vaccination Dates.csv is used to import vaccination information.

Note

When using the Import Vaccination dates.csv you must enter "attested" (without the quotation marks) in the Dose1 Vendor/Dose2 Vendor/Dose3 Vendor field.

Restoring Default Settings

You can restore the vaccination rules to the CDC default settings by click the Restore to Default button at the top of the page.  This will restore the settings for all vaccinations.
